13 new cultural and sports facilities to be built in the city

A combined total of 13 cultural and sports facilities will be developed across Da Nang over the 2020 - 2025 period under the reasonable adjustments to the strategic master plan for major developments in Da Nang to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

In detail, the Da Nang Department of Culture and Sports will carry out 5 projects, namely the Culture and Cinema Centre, the second campus of the Museum of Cham Sculpture in Phong Le Village, Hoa Tho Dong Ward, Cam Le District, the expansion of the existing Phuoc Ninh Cemetery for Vietnamese martyrs who sacrificed their lives for national liberation in the resistance war against the French-Spanish troops,  the upgrade of the Taekwondo Training Centre associated with the surrounding landscape embellishment along 2 September Street, the Hoa Xuan Sports Complex and the Ngu Hanh Son Cultural and Historical Park.

The much-awaited ‘Bach Dang Street - Nguyen Van Troi Pedestrian Bridge - Tran Hung Dao Street’ project will be developed by the city’s Management Board of the Traffic Work Investment and Construction Projects.

The Thanh Nien (Youth) Park and 29 March Park expansion projects will be carried out respectively by the municipal Youth Union and the city’s Management Board of the Industrial and Civil Engineering Construction and Investment Projects.

The Lien Chieu District administration will carry out new developments which comprise a cultural house in the western part of the city, and a community-based tourism development project in combination with the Nam O fish sauce craft village and eco-tourism development.

Meanwhile, an upgrade to the existing Hoa Vang Cemetery will be conducted by the Cam Le District authorities.

A project for spurring the community- based tourism in association with preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of the Co Tu ethnic minority group will be deployed by the Hoa Vang District government.
